Neutron Track

Background

Home to an expanding array of cutting-edge applications such as Mars, Drop, Astroport, and others, Neutron is a rapidly growing smart contract platform that enables entrepreneurs to build and scale breakthrough applications.

Neutron has pioneered a new approach to building applications, establishing itself as the industry’s first Integrated Application Network.

Integrated Applications inherit the best features of both appchains and smart contracts, coupling access to powerful infrastructure with the development speed, cost efficiency, and composability of smart contracts. As a result, Neutron empowers entrepreneurs to build better and more profitable applications that can onboard users from anywhere.

We challenge you to develop an exciting new experiment or application on Neutron, building on one or more of its existing applications (like Mars or Drop) or leveraging its built-in ICTX, ICQ, Cron Module, or Oracle functionality.

Bonus Bounty: In addition to prizes earned through participation in Neutron’s Hackmos track, the Drop Foundation is prepared to award a $5K bonus bounty (paid in USDC) to the team or hacker that builds either:

  • The most compelling dAsset use case or integration (e.g., a dAsset index token)
  • A new dAsset type (e.g., dAssets for yield-bearing ETH or BTC vaults)

Drop is a liquid staking protocol for Interchain assets backed by Lido. Led by ex-Lido and P2P contributors, Drop is on a mission to strengthen the economic viability of sovereign blockchains by transforming stagnant, frozen assets into flowing streams of opportunity.

When a user stakes with Drop, they receive dAssets, which are receipt tokens representing a staked position. For example, if a user stakes ATOM with Drop, they receive dATOM. dAssets auto-compound staking rewards and can be used throughout the Drop ecosystem to earn additional yield.

Ideas List

There is no expectation that these ideas need to be fully fleshed out products by the end of the hackathon, but start working on one of these at the event, and you can almost guarantee you’ll receive follow-on support from the Neutron Foundation thereafter.

  • Pre-market perpetuals
  • A GHO-like stablecoin
  • An on-chain Tamagotchi-like game
  • A trading card game
  • P2P lending
  • A permissionless tokenized ETF platform
  • Synthetics
  • Evolutionary NFTs
  • On-chain insurance
  • An app leveraging RWAs

Submission Requirements

  1. Execution: Projects must demonstrate high-quality execution with a clean, organized GitHub repository, clear build and run instructions, and well-structured documentation.
  2. Originality & Complexity: Projects must be non-trivial and original. Submissions should not consist of minor modifications to existing contracts but should instead show significant development effort.
  3. Relevance & Use of Neutron Features: Projects must utilize key Neutron features such as Interchain Transactions (ICTXs), Interchain Queries (ICQs), the Cron Module, the DEX Module, the Slinky Price Oracle, or compose with existing applications in the Neutron ecosystem (e.g., Astroport, Mars, Drop).
  4. Innovation & Real-World Applicability: Submissions should address real-world problems or propose innovative solutions, demonstrating scalability, potential market fit, and meaningful use cases.
  5. Interoperability: Additional points will be given to projects that demonstrate cross-chain interoperability and meaningful integrations within the broader Cosmos ecosystem.
