We want to see more use cases with ATOM - everything from complicated DeFi apps with novel mechanisms to simple spin-the-wheel degen app; or a full-on portfolio tracker to a simple notifications bot that sends you a Whatsapp message when your ATOM is unstaking!

And you can get creative with your app by integrating inscriptions on the Hub via Asteroid Protocol or utilizing advanced account abstractions with the Abstract SDK.

What is Asteroid Protocol?

The Asteroid protocol allows you to inscribe anything from images and video to text and tokens. Their metaprotocol framework opens the door to a vast new world of possibilities on the Hub.

Anyone can permanently upload content to the Cosmos Hub blockchain with Asteroid Protocol. From videos to music files, text to JPGs... simply click "upload file" on the Create page to inscribe anything you can dream up. Then, optionally list it for sale in an on-chain marketplace. You can even launch your own token in seconds. And rest assured everything you upload will live on for as long as Cosmos Hub exists.

Total prize pool of $12k in USDC to track winners

If the winning team (the first-place) wishes to further build out their app/product/tool, they:
- Will have the opportunity to request grant or venture funding from Atom Accelerator. The AADAO can support the winner with both our financial and GTM support programs.
- Will have a guaranteed seat in the next cohort of the Interchain Builders Program. The Builders Program will support the winner with fundraising, partnerships & technical support.

Please note the prize pool from Asteroid/Abstract may be in non-USDC tokens and winners may need to KYC to receive their winnings.

Challenges / Ideas

Overall Cosmos Hub Track

We are looking for anything and everything that helps the Cosmos Hub, the utility of ATOM, or the user experience of ATOM holders and the Hub's infrastructure providers.

Below are some ideas to get you started. It’s not an exhaustive list - feel free to build what you like!

ATOM-based prediction markets, long/short aggregators for memecoins, and other truly degen apps
ATOM-based DeFi apps, but with something unique or differentiated to what’s currently out there. You could build a perps app with products like everlasting options or power perps; dedicated memecoin and socialFi DeX;
ATOM-based Consumer Chain on the Hub, intending to become a “Platform” for others to ship products or brands on, ideally targeting end-users
Real-world use-case using ATOM - everything from brand-new stablecoins to integrations that can allow ATOM to be used for payments in brick-and-mortar stores
Newbie end-user services, like a notification tool that uses email, SMS or Whatsapp API (so mass-market web2 channels) to notify users about onchain events. Or a standalone website that better visualizes end-users ATOM portfolio across the interchain and prompts them to try out new DeFi strategies.

Bonus: Asteroid Protocol

In addition to the general Cosmos Hub & ATOM ideas above, you can also build something that uses the Asteroid Protocol, to be eligible to win a bigger prize pool. Below are some ideas to get you started. It’s by no means an exhaustive list.

Design a metaprotocol and UI for launching "bot-proof" CFT-20s (ideas could include streaming mints, whitelisting and/or other creative ideas)
“Instagram” for Cosmos Hub. A UI where you can connect a wallet and upload images. Then, every image you upload can be minted x number of times by others.
A TG bot that allows you to query a CFT20 and get stats (price, mcap, % minted, # holders, etc.) along with links to the chart, marketplace

Use account abstraction authentication, utilizing the Abstract SDK, to use your ATOM account to control accounts on other chains
An ICS20 memo field builder to allow for a standardized way of using PFM to send tokens through chains.
Expand on the IBC mail / server application and allow for sending messages that can be executed by the recipient

Judging Criteria

We want to see your ideas and innovations, so our criteria is extremely simple:

You have a good idea, that is linked to the Cosmos Hub or ATOM
You utilize Asteroid Protocol and/or Abstract in your project
If you are building something complicated, you do not need your code production ready. The judges want to see that you made a reasonable effort in building it out
If you are building something for end users, you must have a good UI and UX
Your project is filling a gap in the market, and has the potential to target a sizeable audience

Please note that the judges reserve the right to give a partial prize or no prize if they do not feel any submission has met the challenge. Based on the submissions, the judges may choose just one or up to three winners for the track, and it will be up to the judges’ to decide how to allocate the prize pool. The judges’ decisions are at their own discretion and final, binding and incontestable.
