Announcing the Grantees of ATOM Economic Zone (AEZ) Quadratic Grant Round 3, And Kicking Off The MACI Voting Period!

Introduction

DoraHacks and Dora Factory are delighted to announce the grantees eligible for Round 3 of the Atom Economic Zone (AEZ) grant program. These 14 projects will be ranked by YOU and other community members through quadratic funding and MACI voting results, entitling them to a share of the sizeable 8,000 ATOM + 31,111 USDC grant funding pool.

In this round of the AEZ Quadratic Grant, MACI quadratic voting acts as an additional way to vote and influence the distribution of the grant funding pool partially (31,111 USDC), in addition to the concurrent QF system. Over 1.15 million ATOM stakers across 180 validators are now invited to join as MACI voters.

Why fund public good projects in the ATOM ecosystem?

The ATOM ecosystem is one of the most active and fast-growing in the Web3 space. In order to promote growth, sustainability, and innovation, it is essential to provide funding support to public good projects in the ecosystem.

All the grantee projects in the AEZ Quadratic Grant have been approved based on a rigorous review process by ATOM community members and stakeholders, and have demonstrated their potential with innovative ideas, detailed roadmaps, and clear plans for utilizing their funding. Together, these public good contributors are building a robust and unshakable foundation for the entire Cosmos ecosystem.

By offering the Dora Vota blockchain as the basis for QF and MACI community contributions, Dora Factory overcomes the Cosmos Hub’s lack of smart contract/infrastructure support to assist developers by connecting them to passionate community members and large pools of supportive funding.

Together, we are ushering in the next generation of public good projects and tools for Web3.

Meet the teams

  1. Cosmos Chain Registry - An interconnected project aimed at simplifying multi-chain development in the Cosmos ecosystem.
  2. Chain Abstraction - Infrastructure that allows applications to solve account abstraction and customize the experience for novel use-cases.
  3. InterChain NFT Gateway - Enabling seamless InterChain NFT utilities across different blockchain networks, thereby enhancing the user's ability to manage their NFT portfolio effectively.
  4. Fadroma - A scriptable orchestrator for building next-generation dApps on CosmWasm-enabled backends.
  5. Warp CLI - Hardhat equivalent for Cosmos-based chains that puts DevEx first - a productivity tool for easy contract development and deployment.
  6. CosmWasm Orchestrator - Aiming to be the universal tool for CosmWasm testing, scripting, and deployments, offering the most advanced and powerful testing capabilities unmatched by any other smart-contract testing framework.
  7. Interchain Info - Addressing the need for a centralized and comprehensive resource in the fragmented blockchain ecosystem.
  8. Cosmos-indexer SDK - An open-source tool designed to accelerate the development of data-driven applications.
  9. Pessimistic Validation - Allowing optimistic rollups to IBC without having to wait for the dispute period.
  10. Go-codegen - A tool for generating Go code for CosmWasm smart contracts.
  11. CosmWasm Interchain Accounts Controller - Pure CosmWasm implementation of ICS-27. Able to control all IBC chains, even those without Wasm support. It bypasses the limitations of the Go API.
  12. Lunar HQ - Fully Customizable Token-Gating for InterChain Collections.
  13. La Multisig - Increasing awareness and facilitating user and developer onboarding for the Cosmos ecosystem in Latin America.
  14. On-chain Registry - An interchain Oracle for Cosmos SDK to provide trustable data about Cosmos Ecosystem Metadata.

Open now: Community voting with MACI

The Round 3 MACI voting stage is officially underway and will end on August 30th, 3pm UTC. All $ATOM stakers from any validators are invited to take part by voting for their favorite projects. However, if you’re not an ATOM staker, you can still support the projects via quadratic funding.

Head to the AEZ portal to cast your vote: https://dorahacks.io/aez

The utilization of quadratic voting in the AEZ ensures that teams with the least number of votes still receive a decent portion of the matching pool, compared to the top-ranked teams with larger shares.

The total prize pool for the MACI round is 31,111 $USDC, made up of 20,000 from the ATOM Accelerator and 11,111 from the Dora Factory Foundation.

A Keplr wallet is required to access the MACI round, and we recommend using the Keplr browser extension as voting on mobile is unreliable.

UX & UI Updates to the AEZ Page

At DoraHacks, we are constantly looking to upgrade our products to provide the best experience for hackers and community members. As such, we have released a number of improvements to the AEZ interface:

  1. Separated QF and MACI contribution portals
  2. Added the ability to switch between QF and MACI rounds
  3. Built in a ‘preview’ UX function that allows users to quickly view BUIDL details from QF/MACI carts

We’ve also implemented a new standalone security system to monitor all on-chain and off-chain states and improve the reliability of the entire AEZ public good funding system. We can’t wait to continue supporting valuable public good projects through the AEZ.
