  2. Prize Distribution:

🏆 Build an AMM on Protorunes Winner: $2000

🏆 Build a STABLECOIN on Protorunes Winner: 2000

🏆 Interoperability on Protorunes Winner: $1000

Challenge 1: Build an AMM on protorunes!

Challenge Description: Develop a first generation AMM on PROTORUNES 🚀🚀🚀 Use the starter project at https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune to design a protocol extension to the runes metaprotocol, indexed on Bitcoin L1

Reward amount: 1000 USDT All finalists are allocated a sum of genesis protorunes

Acceptance Criteria Fork of https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune AMM can be stableswap, fixed product with more than 2 assets, simple square root curve, or anything you want! We only expect that a trader trades against the runtime of the subprotocol. Create a structure for calldata parsed from the Protostone Message field, to model actions on an AMM (LP Mint, LP Burn, Swap, are some that may be expected, but it could be modeled differently) Working test suite using metashrew-test demonstrating subprotocol view function usage. Complete a trade in your test!

Judging Criteria Creativity Does the AMM implement a traditional model, or is it novel? Does the subprotocol take a fee? Where does that fee go? Does the subprotocol make effective use of the protorune scheme, or were there extensions to protorune in your fork?

Code Quality Does the metaprotocol make effective use of storage? Is the metaprotocol making effective use of the OP_RETURN space required for messages? Is the AMM reliable?

Resources/Docs https://github.com/sandshrewmetaprotocols/metashrew https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune/wiki

3.2 Challenge 2: Build a STABLECOIN on protorunes!

Challenge Description: Develop a first generation stablecoin on PROTORUNES Use the starter project at https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune to design a protocol extension to the runes metaprotocol, indexed on Bitcoin L1

Reward amount: 1000 USDT All finalists are allocated a sum of genesis protorunes

Acceptance Criteria Fork of https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune Stable can be a “centralized” issuer, bonus points if it is an oracle-pegged synthetic that could be decentralized (think MKR/DAI) Create a structure for calldata parsed from the Protortone Message field, to model actions on the subprotocol Working test suite using metashrew-test demonstrating subprotocol view function usage. Mint stables in your test!

Judging Criteria

Creativity Does the stablecoin implement a traditional model, or is it novel? Does the subprotocol take a fee? Where does that fee go? Does the subprotocol make effective use of the protorune scheme, or were there extensions to protorune in your fork?

Code Quality Does the metaprotocol make effective use of storage? Is the metaprotocol making effective use of the OP_RETURN space required for messages? Is the stablecoin reliable? As judges on the panel, do you feel that we can safely mint this stable?

Resources/Docs https://github.com/sandshrewmetaprotocols/metashrew https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune/wiki https://github.com/sandshrewmetaprotocols/metashrew-ord https://github.com/sandshrewmetaprotocols/metashrew-brc20 https://github.com/sandshrewmetaprotocols/metashrew-runes https://github.com/sandshrewmetaprotocols/metashrew-as https://github.com/sandshrewmetaprotocols/metashrew-test

3.3 Challenge 3: INTEROPERABILITY on PROTORUNES

Challenge Description: Create the boilerplate for a swap of PROTORUNES for RUNES using PSBTs! Use the starter project at https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune to design a protocol extension to the runes metaprotocol, indexed on Bitcoin L1, then create a TypeScript or Rust project that can exchange protorunes for runes using PSBTs!

Reward amount: 1000 USDT All finalists are allocated a sum of genesis protorunes

Acceptance Criteria Fork of https://github.com/kungfuflex/protorune that defines some protocol ID where you mint some balance of a subprotocol-only asset. TypeScript or Rust project that simulates a trade between two entities, exchanging the subprotocol asset for the runes Demonstrates the potential for interoperability between protorunes with runes in a complete test suite

Judging Criteria Creativity How does the trade take place? Is there a wire protocol? Any use of p2p? (js-libp2p works https://github.com/pintswap/pintswap-sdk/blob/master/src.ts/p2p.ts)

Code Quality Is this code reusable to build an interoperability solution for protorunes? Are modular helper functions exported from the library? Do they have documentation Are the test cases easy to understand? Do the test cases correctly read the balances (via view function in metashrew-test) of both runes and protorunes to demonstrate the exchange?
