Meet the teams
DoraHacks and Dora Factory are excited to unveil the eight teams chosen through a rigorous selection process to partake in the inaugural Atom Economic Zone (AEZ) Quadratic Funding Round.
Quadratic funding, initially conceived by Vitalik Buterin based on Quadratic Voting described in Eric Posner and Glen Weyl’s book “Radical Markets”, stands as the preeminent method for mobilizing blockchain communities to champion public goods and developer teams, ensuring an equitable distribution of funding.
The AEZ QF Round marks a pioneering instance of Quadratic Funding tailored for the Cosmos Hub. Given the absence of smart contract support on the Cosmos Hub, Dora Factory ingeniously introduced QF to the hub natively, leveraging the capabilities of Dora Vota. Functioning as a CosmWasm and IBC-enabled appchain, Dora Vota serves as the impartial foundational voting circuit infrastructure for the entire AEZ.
Let’s meet the teams participating in this groundbreaking first round:
1. Abstract SDK – A modular interchain application framework and on-chain infrastructure for the next generation of CosmWasm applications.
2. CosmWasm Orchestrator – A universal tool for CosmWasm testing, scripting, and deployments. It offers the most advanced and powerful testing capabilities unmatched by any other smart-contract testing framework.
3. CW-Interchain Accounts Controller – A pure CosmWasm implementation of ICS-27. Able to control all IBC chains, even those without Wasm support. It bypasses the limitations of the Go API.
4. InterChain NFT Gateway – Enabling seamless InterChain NFT utilities across different blockchain networks, thereby enhancing the user's ability to manage their NFT portfolio effectively.
5. Packet Forward Middleware – Developed by Strangelove Crypto, this public good aims to streamline blockchain inter-connectivity with efficient multi-hop IBC routing.
6. The Rollup – an educational hub acting as a public good that has addressed the need for reliable and accessible information in the rapidly evolving world of Cosmos DeFi.
7. Pouch – an interchain fund recovery protocol, serving as a complementary security wrapper for existing wallets.
8. Fairblock Network – is building for programmable privacy and conditional decryption via several cryptographic schemes. This enables Modular and Programmable Privacy for All Cosmos Chains and L2s.

Now that the projects have been selected, it's time for the community to contribute votes. DoraHacks extends a call to all Cosmos Hub and AEZ community members to contribute $ATOM to this inaugural Cosmos Hub community funding round. Votes will be quadratically matched by a pool of 5,000 $ATOM (approximately $50,000 at the time of writing). The Dora Factory Foundation is sponsoring 3,000 ATOM of this matching pool, with the remaining 2,000 contributed directly from the Dora Factory Public Goods Staking (PGS) Cosmos Hub validator. As validator delegations increase, the ultimate goal is for Dora Factory PGS to sponsor 100% of future round matching pools in a sustainable manner.
As mentioned earlier, due to the Cosmos Hub's lack of smart contract support, this QF round is built on the Dora Vota-ATOM channel.
