What's the difference between the online and in-person hackathon?

ETHToronto is a hybrid event - the active hackathon is online on DoraHacks and Discord. The on-site event is to meet with bounty sponsors, mentors plus attend workshops & events.

A HACKER Ticket gives access to the in-person event on August 15-16, 2023 at Rebel Entertainment Complex, 11 Polson Street, Toronto, Canada. For the full schedule, visit this link.

What is a Bounty or Bounties?

Bounties are blockchain-based prizes that are rewarded for solving problems in an open-source and decentralized environment


Who can participate at ETHWomen Hackathon?

ETHWomen is a community event and free to all participants. We are always accepting developers from beginner to expert levels. All skill levels are welcome from novice to experts. No prior experience is required.


Where is ETHWomen Hackathon taking place?

ETHWomen is a hybrid event taking place online and in-person at Blockchain Futurist Conference. Participants can choose to only participate in the online portion anywhere in the world and connect with members on ETHWomen Discord channel.


When is ETHWomen Hackathon?

ETHWomen Schedule is as follows:

  • July 14 - Online Hackathon Starts
  • August 15-16 - In-Person Workshops at Futurist Conference (Optional)
  • August 23 - Online Submission Due & Judging Concludes

Do I have to participate for the in-person event?

No. You can participate fully online without attending the in-person event. Register as Hacker on this website, join the official ETHToronto & ETHWomen Discord server and look out for the virtual stream during Blockchain Futurist Conference.


Can I submit my project to an ETHToronto Bounty?

As a participant at ETHWomen, you're able to submit a build to ETHToronto, by registering as Hacker on ETHToronto's DoraHacks page here.

HACKATHON

How many people can be on a team?

You can have up to six (6) people on a team. You can look for new team members on the ETHWomen Discord #team-formation channel online or for in-person participants can connect with DoraHacks or Bitcoin Bay team at the event.


Can a project be submitted by a team of 1 person?

Yes, you're able to participate as an individual or a team of up to 6 members.


Do I have to participate in a bounty or can I build my own project?

You can bring your existing build, start a new one as long as you are following the bounty criteria and requirements.


Can I participate in more than one Bounty or Track?

You can submit your buidl (project) in as many bounties as you like. Qualified submissions are based on the criteria of each bounty which can be found on this page.


What is the judging process for selecting winner projects?

The judging criterias are unique for each specific Bounties offering prizes based on their requirements. Check out the Bounties page and check back for updates here on DoraHacks.


What support resources are available during the Hackathon?

For online: We're partnered with CryptoChicks Academy offering free access to blockchain, business and crypto courses for participants. There are also links available to guides and tutorials provided on the Bounties page.

For in-person (optional): On August 15 - 16, 2023, there are workshops, mentorship sessions, team formation, mock judging and more!! Bring your questions or if you want to reach someone for assistance, drop a message on the Discord server for additional support.
