Spanning four weeks, the hackathon offers an opportunity for committed developers and entrepreneurs to conceive a business concept, accelerate it through the development phase, and ultimately present a final product to a panel of expert judges. During the process, participants receive team formation support and technical mentorship around their project. Build-A-Bull is an exciting entry point into Web3 development and the Algorand ecosystem. We recommend that you have previous building experience and feel confident that you are able to commit to the four-week challenge. Stick to the rules to avoid disqualification.\n- **Understand the evaluation criteria.** Take the time to thoroughly understand how the judges will evaluate your project. Align your project with the criteria to maximize your chances of winning.\n- **Build within the hackathon tracks. Ensure that your project aligns with one of the tracks listed below. Judges are more likely to favor projects that fit the theme well and address specific challenges.**\n- **No copying or plagiarism.** Do not copy code, ideas, or projects from others, as this can lead to disqualification.\n- **Always be respectful. Be professional and help us foster a positive environment between the participants, judges, mentors, and organizers.**\n\n# Do I need to register?\n\n\n\nYes, please register when you decide you would like to take part. Registration will provide access to team formation information and exclusive Office Hours with world-class Algorand developers and Web3 pros. If you’re on a team, you will still need to register as an individual in order to be eligible for the prizes. You don’t need to include any of your project details at this time. After you register, we will send you information via email on how to submit your project.\n\n# Is participation in Build-A-Bull limited to newly launched projects, and what are the eligibility criteria for winning?\n\n\n\nBuild-A-Bull focuses on supporting new initiatives that have not yet secured external funding. To qualify for the Build-A-Bull hackathon, projects should not have initiated their development process more than six months prior to the hackathon's starting date. However, if you have previously developed, are in the process of developing, or have garnered venture investment for a different Algorand-based project, you remain eligible to participate and claim victory. Participants must indicate in the application form whether their project incorporates any pre-existing code. Teams are also obliged to disclose all pertinent details about such work.\n\nPlease note that the term \"pre-existing code\" does not include open-source code authored by third parties. We encourage participants to integrate existing Algorand protocols and other open-source resources into their projects.\n\n# How are projects evaluated?\n\nThe hackathon is scored out of 100 and judged on the following criteria.\n\n\n\n

Injective’s orderbook and extremely low gas fees would enable high retail engagement and capital efficiency. Risk-related factors and parameters such as interest rates are determined by governance in a reactive fashion as market conditions change. Even though this approach has been an innovation in DeFi and offers utility, fixed-rate lending is an untapped area.\n\nFixed-rate lending would allow borrowers to predict the costs of a given loan in contrast to the existing approach where costs change over time, degrading UX.\n\nThe primary parameters can be set by governance but some parameters can be set freely by participants. This would be achieved by an overcollateralized zero coupon bond-based P2P lending protocol. \n\nZero coupon bonds are a debt instrument that pay no interest, they rather trade at a discount and thus generate profit for the holder at maturity when redemeed.\n\nBorrowers would set collateral in ratios pre-set by governance. Upon minting these bonds, users would be able to sell them on the market in return for the token they were looking to borrow.\n\nLenders would receive these bonds and exercise them for face-value at maturity.\n\nHere is a concrete example on the flow:\n\n- Alice wants to borrow 1,000 USDC for 1 year.\n- The current market price for 1,000 USDC is 1,100 1-year USDC bonds.\n- Alice provides enough INJ collateral to mint 1,100 1-year USDC bonds.\n- She then proceeds to sell them in the market* for 1,000 USDC.\n- Bob, who wanted to lend 1,000 USDC, had previously placed a limit order on the market to buy 1,100 1-year USDC bonds for 1,000 USDC.\n- When Alice sells the bonds, Bob receives the 1,100 1-year USDC bonds which, at maturity, would be redeemable for their face value: 1,100 USDC. If we assume this transaction happened at the start of the 1-year period, then the implied interest rate for this loan would be 10%.\n\nUpon maturity, borrowers have the ability to repay the loan or the system will automatically roll the maturity one additional period. This ensures that there’s always principal for lenders to redeem. This system is overcollateralized and borrowers are subject to liquidations when the ratio drops below governance-defined thresholds.\n\nWe believe an orderbook design is more expressive as lenders can quote based on their views about interest rates. These contracts allow entities to transform the terms of their debt or investments to better suit their specific needs and risk profiles.\n\nIn a typical interest rate swap, there are two legs:\n\n**1.** Fixed leg: One party agrees to pay a fixed interest rate on a notional amount throughout the life of the swap. The fixed rate is predetermined at the inception of the swap.\n\n**2.** Floating leg: The other party agrees to pay a variable interest rate, typically tied to a reference rate such as LIBOR (London Interbank Offered Rate) or an interbank lending rate, on the same notional amount. The variable rate is reset periodically, often every three or six months, to reflect changes in the reference rate.\n\nThe key objective of interest rate swaps is to allow participants to manage interest rate exposure and cash flow uncertainties. Some common reasons for using interest rate swaps include:\n\n**1.** Hedging: Businesses can use interest rate swaps to protect themselves against adverse interest rate movements. It allows users to mint fixed-term, fixed-rate debt tokens called fyTokens by depositing collateral (usually stablecoins). These fyTokens represent claims on the underlying collateral plus interest. Users can trade these fyTokens, enabling them to manage and speculate on interest rate exposure.\n- Pendle: Pendle is a protocol that facilitates the creation and trading of tokenized future yield streams. It allows liquidity providers (LPs) to lock their tokens, such as those obtained from providing liquidity on Automated Market Makers (AMMs), into smart contracts called Yield Tokens (yTokens). These yTokens represent future yield generated by the locked assets. \n\n**1.** Visit [Dora Grant DAO Hackathon]() to **submit a BUIDL** and fill out the required information (see [Application Guide](https://dorahacks.io/hackathon/dora-grant-dao/submission).\n\n**2.** BUIDLs that pass the initial screening must **submit a Grant Funding Proposal** to [Discourse - DoraHacks Community Governance Forum](https://community.dorahacks.io/c/dgd/5).\n\n**3.** After being selected for the Grant, BUIDLs will go through Community Voting and receive grant funding, **however per may vary on the Community Voting results**.\n\n**Note**: Grantees with **Iterative BUIDLs can re-apply** to the future rounds of Dora Grant DAO. \n\n# Funding Pool Allocation Rules\n\nDora Grant DAO comes in a total amount of $50,000 in the 7th application review and funding round, and the rules for allocation are as follows: \n\n- Selected BUIDLs must **submit a Grant Funding Proposal** prior to participating in the Community Voting.\n\n- Community Voting will determine which BUIDLs‘ Grant Funding Proposal will be approved.\n\n- **The prize will be awarded in the order of the Community Voting results**. Starting with the first place, the following BUIDLs will be allocated the proposed amount until the $50,000 prize pool has been distributed.\n\n- Due diligence will be conducted on the eligibility of every round grantee from Dora Grant DAO.
