Data DAO Hackathon Recap and Result Announcement

From August 15th to September 11th, expertises from around the world gathered at FIL Toronto Summit Data DAO Hackathon to share best practices in data DAOs implementation in real-life usage. The hackathon proposed new challenges for applicants to unveil the value of Web3 Data, and advocate the decentralized data storage, access and services in a wide-discourse mean.

By due, the hackathon has attracted 71 teams to facilitate solutions and the use of tools for data DAOs development. As it intends to call, the shortlisted winners will win up to $50,000 in the total prize as a sign of recognized feasibility. Discover the incremental impact of Web3 Data use in business, cybersecurity, and governance in the following sections.

1. Best use of IPFS/Filecoin for file storage

First prize: Datapocket

DataPocket’s aim is to make encrypted, self-sovereign file storage useable for everyone. DataPocket makes it easy and safe and store your files on the Filecoin network by using your web3 wallet to secure your data.

Second prize: Fanstop

Share decentralized-yet-private(thanks to IPFS) content with your top fans!

2. MultiChain.Storage onFilecoin Network by FilSwan

First prize: Storverse

Built on SAO Network, Storverse is our demo application product for this hackathon competition. Our team is creating a storage metaverse including paid content, decentralized identifiers, file social functioning, etc.

Second prize: CooperDB

Relational Database Management built on top of IPFS/Filecoin and FilSwan MCS.

Third prize: go-mcs-sdk

A go software development kit for the Multi-Chain Storage (MCS) https://mcs.filswan.com service. It provides a convenient interface for working with the MCS API.

Afiant

Afiant is a Decentralized Identifier (DID) system tool that integrates various technologies to allow the creation and maintenance of DIDs and perform other DID related functionalities while utilizing IPFS and Filecoin both via FilSwan MCS.

Deep Diary

This is a personal decentralized data drive based on ipfs/filecoin/mcs We want to create such a platform where users can store their data like pictures/videos/notes etc on a decentralized blockchain network - ipfs/filecoin

Ichill Ecosystem

Decentralized online video sharing and social media platform

3. Computing Over Data

First prize: IPFS Computing Router

IPFS Computing Router enables users to store and fetch dataset from the closest IPFS node and upload the training result to the same node available.

4. Prize Community Choice

First prize: Storverse
