Lockbox is an EVM compatible smart contract treasury that provides infinitely customizable categorization/permissioning to help companies and organizations effectively manage their money.
All transactions and funds are tied to categories in their treasury, which allow form well-defined permissions on what/how much funds each user can touch. Imagine a smart contract where your company's org chart is integrated in the contract; where votes to approve transactions in the engineering department are handled by engineering managers, and payroll transactions are handled only by HR users. Every accessee of the wallet has a spending cap, allowlisted protocols, and categories they can/cannot access; all defined by the group that deploys the Lockbox.
Most groups that touch assets – crypto or not – have natural roles/hierarchies/permissions across users. Smart contract wallets shouldn’t force these restrictions upon users, but should be structured as a canvas that organizations can customize to reflect how they operate. Lockbox is designed to emulate how groups, especially structured organizations, naturally run.
