There are 3 elements to any player in a game: identity, equipment, and stats. When Loot was launched, the foundation for equipment was established in the NFT world. People have already begun to embrace the concept of a digital identity through various PFP NFT projects, and everyone's on-chain activity represents stats in some way shape or form. Meta ID is a project to bring it all together so that everyone has one card that can unlock the Metaverse for them.

Cross-Community

One of the primary principles of Meta ID is that it should bring together multiple NFT communities into one space. That's why the contract is designed so you can mint and edit your Meta ID with your Loot, BAYC, Crypto Coven, Doodles, Nouns, and more.

Right now, all of these projects exist in their own silos, but if these vibrant communities can serve as a foundation together for future projects, the possibilities, and growth are endless. This also makes it possible for us to break free of the 10K limit of a project and expand the game Metaverse to a much larger world.

Unique & Dynamic

Every individual in the Metaverse is unique and constantly growing. Their Meta ID reflects that. They can choose which of their NFTs will represent their identity and equipment and change it whenever they feel something else is more appropriate.

Their stats are calculated entirely off of their on-chain activity. How many transactions have they done lately? When was their first transaction? How many different types of assets do they currently own? How many other addresses are they interacting with? Each of these questions tell us a little bit about the skills and experiences of each person. And it constantly evolves and changes as they interact (or don't interact) with the Metaverse.

Developer Friendly

Right now, if you wanted to build something for multiple NFT communities, it would take a lot of work. But if we can provide one simple endpoint for developers so that multiple communities could participate, building becomes a lot simpler. And by simplifying this aspect of building, creators can focus on what they're best at - being creative and exploratory.

Conclusion

Meta ID is a concept/prototype for a digital future that is inclusive, revolutionary, and fun. It's a lot of the same principles that inspired Satoshi in the beginning. We hope to usher in a new wave of games, communities, and interacts through Meta ID and thank you for your support!

Github Notes

There are two repos - metaid.quest and metaid-nft - that cover all the development efforts related to this project. Its still very much in development, and the smart contract has not been deployed, but all the components of the project and a majority of the functionality is available there.
