📖 Submission Requirements

  • Participants can focus on one or more of the 4 given tracks.
  • To participate in the Aleph Zero Bonus Track and increase your chances of winning, participants must also build an additional collection besides the main collection for the Avalanche.
  • To participate in the Lionscraft Bonus Track and increase your chances on winning a prize, participants must also build an an additional OneKey wallet design featuring Lionscraft branding, on top of the stc Branded Wallet.
  • You are expected to include links to additional detailed reports (e.g., GitHub repository, Google Doc, or Google Drive folder, Design Files for no-code tracks). Judges will be voting based on the documents, links, etc. that are submitted, so projects that submit as much relevant information as possible will stand a higher chance of success.
  • Be the original work of the submitter, be solely owned by the submitter, and not violate the IP rights of any other person or entity.
  • Participants shall not resubmit projects completed in previous hackathons. All works must be created exclusively for this hackathon.
  • Access must be provided to an Entrant’s working Project for judging and testing by providing a link to a website, functioning demo, or a test build. If Entrant’s website is private, Entrant must include login credentials in its testing instructions.
  • To be eligible for the Special Tooling Prizes in the coding tracks, participants must include the names of the SDK and tools used in the project within the BUIDL name. For example: Project Name (Chainlink, Candide).
  • All Submission materials must be in English or, if not in English, the Entrant must provide an English translation of the demonstration video, text description, and testing instructions as well as all other materials submitted.

Getting Started [3-5 MIN]

1. Submit your BUIDL via DoraHacks.io. To begin, you’ll need a DoraHacks account. Click the Login button in the top-right corner to sign up.

You can create an account with GitHub, a crypto wallet, or your email address. We recommend using GitHub to reach a wider audience with your project

*Note: You may be asked to verify your email. The code can take a few minutes to arrive, but don’t worry—it will be valid for 10 minutes after you click “send code.”

2. Make sure to add your GitHub link to your project before the submission deadline. You can submit first and make edits until the hackathon submission deadline.

Click “Submit BUIDL” to open the Hackathon submission form.

→ Already have a BUIDL on DoraHacks?

Click “Use Existing BUIDL” and select your project. Choose the track you'd like to join, answer the organizer’s questions, and then click “Submit for review.”

→ Submitting a new BUIDL?

Click “Create new BUIDL” and fill out the form with your project details.

Note: When entering the BUIDL name, include the names of the tools/SDKs you used in creating it, e.g., Project Name (Chainlink CCIP, Capsule).

Be sure to include URLs (with http/https://) for your demo, demo link, and social media.

Once you’ve completed the new BUIDL setup, select the relevant track, and click “Submit for review.”

Note: if making an additional submission for the Aleph Zero or Lionscraft bonus track, please make sure you create a different BUIDL with the new collection/ wallet design and don't resubmit the BUIDL for the main track!

After submission, you’ll see a notification confirming your project has been submitted.

Project Verification

After verification by the hackathon organizer through the manager portal, your project will be displayed in the BUIDLs gallery.

Want to make some changes to your BUIDL?

Click [Avatar] -> [Profile] to enter the Account Center, and click the "Edit" button on the top right of the BUIDL to update the BUIDL information.

Participation Terms and Conditions

These participation terms and conditions (the “Terms”) set forth the terms and conditions of your participation as a host, speaker, participant, guest, or otherwise (“Participant” or “you”), at all or any portion of any Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon location or related conference or event (collectively, the “Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon” or the “Event”), whether hosted or co-hosted, sponsored or co-sponsored or otherwise organized by one or more of Lionscraft Pte. Ltd. or a third party as well as their respective affiliates and service providers (collectively, “Organizer”, “we” or “our”), including without limitation the event in August 2024 – September 2024. The Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon is made available to you on an “as is” and “as available” basis without representation, warranty, guarantee, or undertaking of any kind. By being a Participant, signing up for and/or attending (either in person or virtually) the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon, and/or accessing or using any content or materials presented or in connection with the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon, you are deemed to consent to the Terms, including any changes made to them in the future.

Please read the Terms carefully, as they govern your attendance at, participation in, and access to the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon and any related content, food, or beverages. You may not attend the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon or access related content if you are present in or a resident or citizen of any jurisdiction where such access is prohibited, restricted, or subject to requirements that conflict with the Terms.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER and you agree to the following:

No liability for Organizer

The Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon and related content are provided for informational purposes only, and we may not update anything, so the information may be out of date or incorrect when you access it. Other Participants, speakers, sponsors, and judges have no responsibility to you, nor does Organizer.

By registering for, attending, or participating in the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon and related activities, you and your team members consent to the use, recording, and distribution (both now and in the future) of your image, voice, and likeness in photographs, videos, audio recordings, and other electronic media. This consent applies to all personnel and team members associated with you. The Organizer may continue to use these images and recordings after the completion of the event. Additionally, you agree that the Organizer may share information related to your Hackathon registration, project details, and other related information with event sponsors or partners. These sponsors or partners may contact you during or after the event. Please note that this consent strictly pertains to the use of your image, voice, and other related media for promotional and informational purposes. It does not apply to the intellectual property rights associated with the applications, designs, or projects created during the Hackathon. All intellectual property rights to your created applications and designs remain with you, the participants. You waive any privacy or other rights concerning the use of your image, voice, or likeness as described above.

Any fees or sponsorship amounts are nonrefundable

The proceeds will be used at our sole discretion. You may pay a higher or lower fee or sponsorship amount than others, at our sole discretion.

Don’t do anything silly or nasty!

Be respectful, helpful, and kind. Don’t steal any information or content, don’t violate anyone’s intellectual property rights, don’t say anything mean, hateful, or threatening, and don’t try to scam or defraud anyone, or do anything unlawful.

Talk to professionals!

Nothing at the Event or in the related materials is intended to be investment, tax, legal, accounting, or any other type of advice. DO NOT RELY ON ANY OF IT, including without limitation what the speakers or sponsors say, FOR ADVICE.

You are responsible for your and your personnel’s use and access!

This means that anything you or they do, or anything that happens, is not Organizer’s responsibility, and you indemnify and hold Organizer harmless for everything about the Event and your and your personnel’s access to the Event and related content and materials.

Content provided by anyone at the Event, on websites or anywhere else is not Organizer’s responsibility!

You will have to abide by and be subject to the terms and conditions of any content, website, or other format that you and your personnel access in connection with your participation in any way in the Event.

Right of Participation and Eligibility Criteria

The Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon is open for individual participation and collaborative participation by individuals working in teams. You must meet the registration and eligibility requirements established by Organizer and prove that you are at least 18 years of age on the date of registration or that you have parental consent. You confirm and agree that you are not (i) subject to any sanctions, nor (ii) a person identified as a terrorist organization on any other relevant lists maintained by any governmental authority. You and your teammates must agree to the Terms and meet the eligibility criteria contained in this Eligibility Criteria. If you or a teammate is ineligible or otherwise fails to comply with these Terms, you or your Submission may be disqualified at the Organizer’s sole discretion. You are solely responsible for your own cooperation and compliance with the Terms and the applicable rules on the Event website and Dorahacks page.

Teams

Individual Participants may participate independently, or individuals may join a team, whether established at the Event or beforehand. We will not be responsible for assigning individuals to a team. Participants may not change teams once Participants have registered and/or joined the team. A team has a minimum of one (1) Participant, and there is no maximum number of Participants. Be mindful that each team member is responsible for everything their team does, and any prizes awarded to the team will be allocated amongst team members by themselves and not by Organizer.

Scoring of Entries

A panel of people selected by Organizer will be responsible for judging entries according to the judging criteria determined by the Organizer. The winners will be decided by the judges at the end of the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon. The judges will decide the winners jointly and in their sole discretion. Winners will be announced at the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon, although some winners may be announced at a later date. Entries must be entirely original work and must not contain anything that is or may be illegal or in any way improper (including, but not limited to, hateful, defamatory, obscene, indecent or be in any other way objectionable by a reasonable person, or malicious or harmful code of any kind or culturally insensitive). The work product must not use any patent, copyright, trademark, or other proprietary right except as permitted under applicable laws.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the teams or individuals whose entries are deemed winners by the judges. Prizes for winning in the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon may include money, mentorship, or other relevant awards to be determined at Organizer’s sole discretion. Prize money, if any, will be distributed to the individuals or teams. Please note that you may owe taxes on any prize, and it is your responsibility alone to ensure proper payment of all taxes. If any issue comes up with respect to prizes, Organizer may make the final decision in its sole discretion. All prizes are stated in US Dollars. The actual value of electronic prizes is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the approximate retail value is estimated for. Prizes are non-transferable, and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Organizer’s sole discretion. Prizes not manufactured or sold by the Organizer will be awarded without warranty of any kind, express or implied, without limitation. Prizes awarded will not in any way influence any decision in doing business with the Organizer. Prize was not given in connection with or related to any sale or commercial transaction or promise related thereto. Organizer reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. If you are ineligible or otherwise fail to comply with this participation Terms and the Event’s rules, you may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Organizer. You are solely responsible for your own compliance with Eligibility criteria.

General Terms and Conditions

Here are the general terms and conditions for attending Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon or accessing related content:

  1. Your access to and use of the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon and related content are governed by the Terms, which give you a limited, revocable right to access and participate.
  2. You agree that you will not:
    • Have any intellectual property, privacy, or other rights or licenses to anything you say, do, hear, read, or access during or as a result of an Event, so do not reveal anything you want to keep private or in which you want to retain any intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, all of which you hereby waive;
    • Attempt to circumvent any features we employ;
    • Attempt to access any unauthorized areas or material;
    • Introduce any viruses, worms, malware, trojan horses, or other harmful or destructive content to any websites or send such things to us or to any speakers, sponsors, or attendees;
    • Access data through unauthorized means;
    • Send automated or machine-generated queries or messages to us or anyone attending Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon;
    • If posting anything about Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon or related content, post anything that could be considered:
      1. Infringing on the intellectual property or other ownership rights of other parties;
      2. Constituting a violation of a person’s right of privacy or right of publicity;
      3. Threatening, vulgar, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable;
      4. Unwanted commercial content, including but not limited to, spam and unsolicited messages whose purpose is to drive Users to third-party sites;
      5. Prohibited by law;
    • Copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon or related content without prior written permission;
    • Collect, harvest, or otherwise obtain personal information of other users without their consent; and/or
    • Encourage or induce any third parties to engage in any prohibited activities.
    • We reserve the right to terminate your access at any time in our sole discretion, and you agree to abide by any such terminated access.
  3. The Terms make up the entire agreement between you and Organizer regarding the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon and related content and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and proposals, whether oral or written, between you and Organizer (including, but not limited to, any prior versions of the Terms), provided, however, that to the extent any terms and conditions of any host, co-host, or sponsor provide any coverage for us, we shall be entitled to such coverage in addition to the Terms.
  4. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. In the event that any provision of the Terms is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, the Terms will nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion will be deemed to be severed from the Terms.

Liability Release and Indemnity

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ORGANIZER BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, COSTS, OR EXPENSES IN CONNECTION WITH, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE INTERSECT THE MAKEATHON + HACKATHON AND/OR THE TERMS.

Participant shall indemnify and hold Organizer and its officers, directors, employees, successors, and assigns harmless from and against any and all proceedings, claims, injuries, damages, expenses, or losses to person or property and/or liabilities of any nature that in any way arise from participation in the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon or acceptance or use of a prize or parts thereof, including without limitation:

  • (i) Any condition caused by events beyond Organizer’s control that may cause the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon to be disrupted or corrupted;
  • (ii) Any claim than an entry infringes third-party intellectual property or proprietary rights;
  • (iii) Any disputes among team members;
  • (iv) Any injuries, losses, or damages (compensatory, direct, incidental, consequential, or otherwise) of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, or from participation in the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon;
  • (v) Any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon; technical errors that may impair your ability to participate in the Hackathon; or
  • (vi) Errors in the administration of the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon.

Disclaimer

IN NO EVENT WILL ORGANIZER BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF USE, DATA, BUSINESS OR PROFITS) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERSECT THE MAKEATHON + HACKATHON, WHETHER SUCH LIABILITY ARISES FROM ANY CLAIM BASED UPON CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, AND WHETHER OR NOT ORGANIZER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS OR DAMAGE.

Governing Law and Severability

The Terms are governed by the law of Singapore, without reference to rules governing choice of laws. Any action, suit, or case arising out of or in connection with the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon or the Terms must be brought in the Courts of Singapore. All disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Intersect the Makeathon + Hackathon, prizes, or the Terms shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of such courts for the purpose of any such action. If for any reason any provision of the Terms is adjudicated to be unenforceable, that provision of the Terms will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as to effect the intent of the parties, and the remainder of the Terms will continue in full force and effect.

Timing

  • Contest Dates: 12 August 2024 – 12 September 2024.
  • 12 September 2024, at 01:00 UTC, is the final submission deadline for all entries. The Organizer holds the right to update this deadline at its discretion.

Submission

Submissions must be submitted based on the Submission Guidelines outlined on the Dorahacks page.

Your Submission must:

  • Adhere to the Terms of this Event;
  • Adhere to the Fresh Code Rule, whereby all code developed as part of the Event must be “fresh”, meaning that the portion that’s included in the main source code repository has been developed explicitly for this Event and that all existing dependent libraries are equally available to all participants. Before the start of this Event, You can create wireframes, designs, and user flows. To keep things fair, all code used in a Submission must be written during the Submission Period. You may use any coding languages or open-source libraries;
  • Not breach the terms and conditions of any embedded software or services used by your Application;
  • Not contain any Harmful Code. “Harmful Code” means any computer programming code constructed with the intent or likelihood of damage to or interference with other computer programs, data files, or hardware, without the knowledge or consent of the computer user, and includes self-replicating and self-propagating program instructions such as viruses, worms, Trojans, backdoors, or the like;
  • Not contain, depict, or refer to any crude, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, disparaging, discriminatory, offensive, illegal, or otherwise unsuitable language, activity, or other content (determined in the discretion of Organizer);
  • Not contain text that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age (determined in the discretion of Organizer);
  • Not contain, depict, or refer to any content which disparages or refers negatively to Organizer, Event Administrator, the Event Program, or any other person or entity affiliated with the promotion and administration of the Event (all as determined by Organizer and/or Event Administrator in its sole discretion);
  • Not contain any content that violates any law or regulations in any jurisdiction where Submission is created;
  • Not contain any content that violates any third party’s rights (including privacy, personality, or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement;
  • Have permission from all parties mentioned in the Submission (if any) to use their name and likeness in the Submission and to grant the rights set forth herein. If requested, permissions in a form acceptable to Organizer must be produced;
  • Not feature brand names or trademarks other than the Organizer’s mark, which Entrant has a limited license to use to incorporate into his/her Submission for this Event;
  • Not have been previously entered into any other event, content, or competition;
  • Not have been previously published by any medium.

Judging

As set out on the Event Website, a panel of judges will evaluate Submissions after the Submission Period closes using the judging criteria that can be found on the Event Website. A current list of judges can be found at the Event Website. Judges are subject to change at the Event Administrator’s sole discretion. A judge may elect to recuse him or herself from evaluating a Submission, may require a judge to recuse him or herself from evaluating a Submission, if, in the judge’s’s discretion, it would not be appropriate for the judge to evaluate a participant’s Submission because of a past or current relationship with the participant. Recusal decisions are final and not subject to appeal. Decisions of the judges are final and binding and not subject to review or appeal.

Winner Announcement and Verification

Winners of the contest will be announced on or after 22 September 2024. Potential winners will be announced after judging ends, with the winner list to be posted on the Event Website after winner confirmation is complete. Organizer may take any actions necessary to verify a team’s compliance with this Participation Agreement, including Submission compliance with the Event Rules and Requirements, before awarding a Prize, including, without limitation, engaging a third-party vendor to evaluate the code and/or requiring a team to provide evidence of permission to use certain third-party materials. You understand and acknowledge that even though your team may be announced as a winner, if your team’s compliance with this Participation Agreement or your Submission’s compliance with the Event Rules and Requirements cannot be verified to the satisfaction of Organizer and the judges, then Organizer and the judges, will select an alternate winner with the next highest score based on the same judging criteria. Potential winners will be notified by email, Telegram or from the Dorahacks platform within fourteen (14) working days of winners judging. Except where prohibited, each potential winner may be required to provide KYC identification documentation before the prize can be transferred. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to provide any requested information within the required time period (if applicable), does not comply with these Terms, or the prize is returned as undeliverable, the potential winner forfeits the prize. If a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, the prize may be awarded to a runner-up determined by the qualified judges, at the Organizer's sole discretion. Only one (1) alternate winner may be determined, after which the applicable prize will remain un-awarded. Acceptance of any prize shall constitute and signify each winner’s agreement and consent that the Organizer and their designees may use the winner’s name, city, state, likeness, Submission, and/or prize information in connection with the Event for promotional, advertising, or other purposes, worldwide, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, without limitation and without further payment, notification, permission, or other consideration, except where prohibited by law. By entering, You agree that You are in compliance with all of Your employers’ rules, policies, and procedures that relate to accepting prizes. Each winner will indemnify Organizer and any licensee of Organizer against all claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable counsel fees and legal expenses) arising out of any breach of these terms. Prizes will be fulfilled 8 – 10 weeks after winners’ announcement post-conclusion of the Event (closing ceremony). Each winner shall irrevocably grant the Organizer a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from, and display such submissions in whole or in part, on a worldwide basis, and to incorporate it into other works, in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed, including for promotional or marketing purposes, and the right to sublicense others to do any or all of the foregoing. If requested, You will sign any documentation required for Organizer or its designees to make use of the non-exclusive rights to be granted to use the Submission. Each winner accepts and acknowledges that Organizer shall not be obligated to use the Submission and that Organizer, in its sole discretion, shall have the right to refrain from using the Submission.
