ETH Vietnam 2024 Hackathon Rule: ETHVN24

Significant!

  1. Teams must have no more than 4 hackers and at least 1 hacker, who are all physically in attendance on 15-17 Mar 2024 for IRL events.
  2. Pre-existing projects are not allowed to be considered for prizes. You may, however, build a new feature for an existing project that is unique and standalone.
  3. All codes/repositories required to run your project must be submitted. You cannot steal another team's source code.
  4. Judges will make the final decision on whether a project will qualify for prize consideration.

ABOUT ETHVIETNAM BUIDLATHON

ETH Vietnam BUIDLathon will bring together some of the brightest minds in the industry. The focus is on creating qualified and unified teams that are innovative and familiar with current industry trends. Teams are expected to develop projects that could be put into production and have immediate impact on Web3 development. In addition, the event is meant to promote further adoption within broader markets, bringing talented and skilled participants from a variety of backgrounds into the Web3 world.

WHO IS IT FOR?

  • Participants: Global Builders
  • ETHVietnam is the conference for passionate devs and contributors on anything related to Ethereum, DeFi, Web3, infrastructure, and more with a focus on decentralization and community projects & ecosystems.

FORMAT

  • In-person competition
  • Focus target: Mass applicants
  • Criteria to judge: Users crypto adoption; bridge Web2 - Web3; impact, innovation
  • Main topic: Web3 Application
  • Example project: Infrastructure; Web2 to Web3, new marketplace model, social application,…

ELIGIBILITY

  • Teams must have no more than 4 hackers (Minimum 1 person. Maximum 4 people.), who are all physically in attendance on 15-17 Mar 2024 for IRL events.
  • Hackers must be over the age of 18
  • No geographic restrictions on hackers

BOUNTIES/ PRIZES

  • By participating, you'll have the opportunity to win your share of a substantial prize pool.
  • These bounties are judged by the projects issuing the bounty, not by ETHVietnam Track judges.
  • Sponsors will issue rewards based on how closely a project meets the bounty criteria.
  • In-person bounty winners will be announced by sponsors during the Closing Ceremony on 17 March, 2024.

JUDGING PROCESS

Judges will be batched into small groups (3-4) that will visit multiple teams.

  • The judging duration will run for 2-3 hours (from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on 17 March, 2024)
  • Judges will self-identify as “Business/Operations/Investing/Design” or “Technologist/Engineer/Developer.”
  • Track judges will only visit and judge projects in the one track they are assigned to.
  • Community voting will happen via Hackerlink.io using Quadratic Voting.
  • It’s possible for in-person BUIDLers to also participate in the virtual hackathon. They’ll be able to continue working on their in-person BUIDLathon project, or start a new one.
