Developers participating in the Hackathon must ensure that their dApp submissions comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and avoid producing illegal or illicit projects. Projects could be disqualified many reasons, among others:

  • Facilitating illegal activities
  • Implementing unlicensed gambling
  • Breaking gaming regulations
  • Violating securities laws or financial regulations
  • Infringing on intellectual property rights
  • Breaching data protection standards
  • Incorporating exploitative features
  • Containing critical security vulnerabilities
  • Engaging in deceptive practices
  • Violating age restrictions
  • Attempting market manipulation
  • Violating geographical restrictions
  • Failing to adhere to hackathon rules
  • Exhibiting excessive centralization
  • Lacking originality (Do not infringe on any existing patents, trademarks, or copyrights)
  • Conflicting with Chiliz's values, or potentially damaging the reputation or regulatory relationships of our partners and those of any affiliates of Chiliz.

Please note that this list is not exhaustive. Additional grounds for disqualification may apply based on further legal or ethical considerations.

All submissions must be original works of the participants. Plagiarism or unauthorized use of another's work will result in immediate disqualification. Developers may utilize open-source code as part of their projects, that use must be properly credited.

Submissions should prioritize alignment with Chiliz’s innovation goals in the blockchain space. Chiliz reserves the right to disqualify any project at its sole discretion, which includes but is not limited to decisions based on legal or ethical concerns not explicitly covered in these instructions. By participating, developers acknowledge and agree to these terms, committing to create dApps that are not only innovative but also legally sound and ethically responsible.
