Significant!

1 - Teams must have no more than 4 hackers and at least 1 hacker, who are all physically in attendance on 25-26 Nov 2022 for IRL events, and join online on 24 Oct to 24 Nov 2022.

2 - You can submit your project from NOW ~ 9:30am Nov 26, ICT.

3 - You should provide with updates of new functions, design and so on developed/created during Oct 12th - Nov 25th, to be qualified for the BUIDLathon. Updates should be presented via BUIDL milestone or in your Github repo provided. New ideas are expected.

4 - Your hack must be related to Ethereum ecosystem.

5 - All codes/repositories required to run your project must be submitted. You cannot steal another team's source code.

ABOUT ETHVIETNAM BUIDLATHON

ETH Vietnam Buidlathon will bring together some of the brightest minds in the industry. The focus is on creating qualified and unified teams that are innovative and familiar with current industry trends. Teams are expected to develop projects that could be put into production and have immediate impact on Web3 development. In addition, the event is meant to promote further adoption within broader markets, bringing talented and skilled participants from a variety of backgrounds into the Web3 world.

WHO IS IT FOR?

• Participants: Global Builders

• ETHVietnam is the conference for passionate devs and contributors on anything related to Ethereum, DeFi, Web3, infrastructure, and more with a focus on decentralization and community projects & ecosystems.

• Expect great speakers, talks, workshops for both experts and beginners, and tons of great social events you will not forget.

ELIGIBILITY

• Teams must have no more than 4 hackers (Minimum 1 person. Maximum 4 people.), who are all physically in attendance on 25-26 Nov 2022 for IRL events, and join online on 24 Oct to 24 Nov 2022.

• Hackers must be over the age of 18

• No geographic restrictions on hackers

REQUIREMENTS

• Your hack must be related to Ethereum ecosystem

• You should provide with updates of new functions, design and so on updated during Oct 12th - Nov 25th, to be qualified for the BUIDLathon. Updates should be presented via BUIDL milestone or in your Github repo provided.

• You cannot steal another team's source code

• All code required to run your project must be submitted via GITHUB link.

HOW TO ENTER

Submit the Buidlathon virtual online first. Then on the event schedule you'll find workshops, tech talks, learning sessions, and lots of other cool stuff! We'll also send google calendar invites to all scheduled talks. And you will join the Buidlathon in person from 25th -26th Nov.

On the 26th Nov, best 10-15 teams will be selected to join demo day, and you pitch in front of about 30 judges (Experts, VC, protocols, etc)

IRL BUIDLathon AGENDA

• DAY 1 | Official Buidlathon: Fri, Nov 25 - Sat, Nov 26
  Teams continue improving their projects as well as their project plan and implement it. Project submission deadline is 9:30am, Nov 26.

• DAY 2 | Judging&Prize Giving: Sat, Nov 26
  Buidlathon voting ends, and results are presented. Winners announced. Official ending of event.

• Community Voting of Quadratic Funding Grant: Nov 26 - Dec 10
  Community Voting of Quadratic Funding Grant to distribute an extra prize pool of $5,000 to the selected projects and help them get funded from the global ETH/MATIC community.

TEAM GUILDLINE

TEAM STRUCTURE

• Teams must have no more than 4 hackers (Minimum 1 person. Maximum 4 people.)

• A suggested sample team might have: Back-end coder, Front-end coder, UI/UX designer and Business/project manager.

• If you already have a team: Join ETHVIETNAM Discord and use the form in the #registration channel.

• If you don't have a team (Before 0:00 November 23th): Join ETHVIETNAM Discord and start chatting with other people looking for projects in the #find-a-team channel. You can also meet people on our 1st-day activities.

TEAM REQUIREMENT

• All team information cannot be changed after November 23th, 2022.

• During the Buidlathon(Nov 25th - 26th), hackers should be at Independence Palace. They can leave at 10 PM to rest or join other events.

• The remaining cases must have the opinion of Organizers.

• Teams may build a new feature for an existing project that is unique and standalone.

• Teams can use an idea they had before the event. However, all work on a project should be done at the Buidlathon.

• Teams that have copied or cheated will be immediately disqualified from the competition.

• Organizer’s decision is final. Product copyright belongs to the competing teams.

JUDGING CRITERIA - RUBRIC

Teams will be judged on these 5 criteria. These criteria will guide judges but ultimately judges are free to make decisions based on their feeling of which projects are the most impressive and most deserving.

• ORIGINAL WORK: Pre-existing projects are not allowed to be considered for prizes

• EXISTING PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: You may build a new feature for an existing project that is unique and standalone.

WORKSHOP-STYLE COURSE

#01: Blockchain A-Z | #02: BUIDL on Ethereum | #03: BUIDL others

We plan to conduct one to two lecture a week and 12-24 lectures in total. All classes are streamed over Facebook & Youtube and a chatroom is available is ask questions on the fly. While the prepared content should benefit the audience, the lecture-style supports the audience to ask questions and diverge from the content to aid the learning experience. Typically, 1 hour of lecture material is planned for a 2 hour session. For some special workshops will do IRL. So that the attendants can meet up with mentors and other builders / VCs, etc.

EXTERNAL CONTENT & SPONSOR

Assuming it is successful, we want sponsors to focus on how we can make it sustainable and from these workshops, we also have the pool of Talents and good projects to accelerate. There will be different workshops from external companies during the 12 week course. We may include some interactive panel sessions with industry experts to discuss some of the material presented.
