Voting Rules

1. Each voter has only one vote and can vote for one project.
2. Voters can change their votes until the end of the voting deadline (11:59 PM, March 18th). The last vote submitted will be considered the final vote for that voter in this round.
3. The votes will be counted by bounties(tracks). The project with the highest number of votes in each track will receive a total of $2,000.
4. All the aMACI votes will be tallied at the end of the voting period, with the results and ZK proofs released at 12:00 PM, March 20th, Vietnam Time.

Voting Guide

- Step 1: Get SepoliaETH token

To start voting, SepoliaETH token will be needed for gas cost. Get Sepolia token from the faucet (QuickNode / Alchemy).

- Step 2: Sign-up & Get MACI key

1. Visit https://dao.dorahacks.io/#/maci, connect to your wallet to get started.

2. Click “Sign up” under ETHVietnam BUIDLathon aMACI community voting round. Then you will need to sign up (gas fee needed) and get an initial MACI key. MACI key will be asked for voting.

• Your Metamask wallet will pop up for confirming gas cost.

3. To get anonymity for MACI voting, you need to deactivate(reset) this initial key when finish signing up. Just click “Reset Key” on the signup success page. *MACI key reset requests will be processed everyday at 2 AM&PM, UTC. Go back to this page to get your reset key after the latest processing time.

**Even if you go with the original key without resetting, you can still start voting at the ETHVietnam BUIDLathon Voting Page.

- Step 3: Reset MACI Key

1. When finish creating an initial key, click “Reset Key” on the success page. Or you can go directly to https://dao.dorahacks.io/#/maci and click “Reset Key”.

2. Deactivate your current key:

• Enter your current key or upload the .txt file you downloaded when signing up, then click “Request to reset key”. (This step may take 30 seconds ~ few minutes depending on the network status.)

• MACI key reset requests will be processed everyday at 2 AM&PM, UTC. Go back to this page to get your reset key after the latest processing time.

- Step 4: Generate a new key (After the next key upate time)

***Note: After reseting key, the old Key is invalid. In this case, the old key is not recorded in the voting result. Be sure to complete the process of getting the new key. Only votes using RESET key will be counted.

• Again navigate to the page. Click on "Reset Key".
• Upload the old key and click on "Request to Reset Key". A new key will be generated.
• Click “Download Key & Confirm to Reset”, the new key will be automatically downloaded into a TXT file.

- Step 5: Go voting

Before voting you need:

• After reseting key, the old Key is invalid. In this case, the old key is not recorded in the voting result. Be sure to complete the process of getting the new key. Only votes using RESET key will be counted.
• Make sure that you have some SepoliaETH token as gas fee (0.3 SepoliaETH is enough). Please join this chat to get gas fee support.

1. Check out all of the top projects and vote for them at https://dorahacks.io/grant/ethvietnam/buidl.

2. Click "Add to MACI-Cart" button under the project you want to vote for.

3. You’ll be asked to connect to your wallet and enter your MACI key.

(You should have the key file downloaded to your local storage at Step 1: Sign-up. If you have reset the key, remember to use your new key.)

4. Every voter has only one vote(voice credit), therefore you can only vote for one project, but you can revote anytime.

• Note: If you encounter a super high gas fee, it’s a warning. Please do not confirm directly. Please check whether there is enough SepoliaETH balance.

5. Due to the aMACI mechanism, the voting results will not be displayed in real time, and the final results will be announced after tallying and ZK proofs generated.

Some additional questions about Anonymous MACI

1. Can I vote without resetting the MACI key? I don’t want to keep anonymous during MACI voting.

The whole voting process consists of two stages. In the first stage, it is sign-up stage. You can just sign up and vote without using the functionality of Anonymous MACI Voting. The second stage is to achieve anonymity towards the administrator. If you don’t need it, you can skip it. But if you are a cryptography enthusiast, we encourage you to try this brand new functionality we introduced.

2. How do I achieve anonymity in the second stage of Anonymous MACI Voting?

aMACI stands for anonymous MACI, achieved using rerandomizable encryption. Anonymization is achieved by the fact that anyone can deactivate their keys at any time, and provide a new key which the operator cannot correspond to any existing key. Thus when a new key is voting, it's anonymous.
