Introduction

CoinEx Smart Chain is a decentralized and high-efficiency public chain created by the CoinEx public chain team for decentralized finance. Committed to growing into the next generation of blockchain financial infrastructure, CSC is characterized with full compatibility with the Ethereum ecosystem, high efficiency, negligible gas fees, and permission-less staking for being a validator.

This time, CSC has prepared a total prize pool of $300,000 for the hackathon, including $100,000 for the initial prize and $200,000 for the ballot bonus. In addition, ViaBTC Capital has raised a seed fund to help high-quality projects further develop in the CoinEx Smart Chain ecosystem. The focus of the hackathon is a trial run for developers to create DeFi applications, NFT games, metaverse, and other next-generation blockchain game products, and build Web 3 tech stack projects on CSC. We warmly welcome all application based on EVM contracts to immigrate or teams with potential interest to develop on CSC .

At the same time, CSC will also provide investment opportunity from well-known institutions for projects. Despite from technical support, CSC has full arrangements on media publicity for projects to gain popularity.

HackerLink Grant is a quadratic funding DApp that supports early-stage projects and ideas from open source developer communities. Grant allows both community members and organizations to participate in funding each of the early developer projects, based on the donation amount and community popularity, to sustain the development of projects.

The goal of Grant is to fund developers' ideas and early-stage projects via donation, so that these projects can develop further into a venture with improved technology, user-friendly products and a complete community in the CoinEx Smart Chain (CSC) ecosystem.

CoinEx Smart Chain Global Hackathon Grants Round 1 accepts the following types of projects, including but not limited to:

New protocols deployed on CSC, decentralized applications such as Defi, DAO, and NFT, wallets and other underlying infrastructure, data analysis and visualization tools, community and education projects.

CoinEx Smart Chain Global Hackathon Grants Round 1 starts from September 15, 2021 to 16:00 on December 12, 2021 (GMT). Developers participating in this round should submit projects in CSC Global Hackathon Grants Round 1 page. Remember to select "CSC Global Hackathon Grants Round 1" as project source. Submitted projects will be displayed on the CSC Global Hackathon Grants Round 1 page, and a real-time community donation ranking will be available on the Leaderboard on the round detail page. Developers should provide as much detailed information as possible when submitting the project, verify the project’s Twitter/GitHub link and contact on telegram @hackerlinkofficial , so that community donators can verify the authenticity of the project.

Voting Mechanism

HackerLink Grant applies the voting mechanism of quadratic funding, which is inspired by Vitalik Buterin's work "Quadratic Payments" (https://vitalik.ca/general/2019/12/07/quadratic.html). For the Chinese interpretation and the model of HackerLink Grant, please refer to “Quadratic Voting and Quadratic Funding” at https://matataki.io/p/6113. There are two funding sources—the individual donation and the sponsor's prize pool.

Individual contributors can donate to any project(s) through their personal wallet and vote at the same time. The threshold for voting for the same project with the same wallet address is 10 CET/vote, and each additional vote costs 10 CET, that is, the Nth vote costs 10*N CET. Votes of individual contributors make a difference to the distribution of the prize pool according to the Quadratic Funding algorithm. Simply put, the more individual contributors and the more funding, the more prize will be proportionately distributed to the project from the sponsor’s prize pool.

Please note, donation through your wallet is completed on the CSC mainnet. So before voting, make sure your wallet is connected to the CSC mainnet and you have CET available.

For the Metamask configuration of the CSC mainnet, please refer to: https://docs.coinex.org/#/wallet

The configuration information is as follows:

chainID: 52

symbol: CET

This QF round is using the Quadratic Funding V2 Protocol. Details of the new protocol can be found here: https://dorafactory.medium.com/quadratic-funding-v2-protocol-anti-sybil-fairness-and-scalability-on-chain-2a7aec43541c There is a major new component in the Quadratic Funding V2 Protocol -- the quadratic progressive tax system. The QF V2 protocol uses the quadratic progressive tax system to mitigate inequality of the original quadratic funding protocol. https://ethresear.ch/t/mitigate-quadratic-funding-inequality-with-a-progressive-tax-system/9859

A real-time community donation ranking will be displayed on the Grant detail page. At the end of this round, the Leaderboard will display the final ranking and funding amount (including the donation from the community and the sponsor’s prize pool distributed).
