By using the distributed [matrix] messaging network, users can chat through end-to-end encrypted decentralized connections. We use ethereum attestations (EAS) on BASE to attest which [matrix] account is trusted by a given ethereum address.
Thanks to this, ethereum users can send real-time messages to each other in a trustless and frictionless way, without incuring gas costs for every message that they send.
The proposed mechanism has applications beyond simple chat messaging such as gaming, distributed data syncing and IoT solutions.
