Some of the more prominent applications of Cryptosat are around the generation of trusted cryptographic parameters, or "trusted setups" - a procedure where a trusted party is required to operate honestly to generate cryptographic material that enables to bootstrap a certain protocol. A notable example of this is zkSNARKS. Other applications of such trusted party include verifiable random beacons, verifiable delays, and more.
