About MeroDeck

MeroDeck is a decentralized, privacy-preserving implementation of Texas Hold'em Poker built on the Calimero Network and integrated with Starknet for transaction management. It uses a specialized token, MERO, to facilitate seamless gameplay and transactions within the platform.

Our solution showcases how decentralized gaming can prioritize user privacy, fairness, and scalability, all while delivering a robust user experience.

Key Features

  • Decentralization of games

The problem with blockchain implementations of poker is that anyone can view the game state on the chain, but that is not what a player will want. Hence we leverage Calimero network to store the game state locally shared in a context between the players playing that game.

  • Privacy preserving gameplay

We are implementing the Mental Poker Protocol to enable secure shuffling and deal distribution without relying on a centralized dealer. This ensures the integrity of the game and safeguards player privacy. Although the protocol's integration is not complete yet, it is one of the ideas which will make the complete game more robust.

  • Scalable dev setup

MeroDeck is designed with simplicity in mind for developers and testers. Using bash scripts, setting up Calimero nodes is straightforward and allows seamless testing in multi-node environments.

  • MERO token

Uses its own token for management of transactions across games. This further allows MeroDeck to scale further as a poker platform, holding multiple games together and organizing tournaments.
