Detailed Summary:
NeuroTalent is a dedicated platform where neurodivergent & disabled students are exposed to opportunities to connect with prospective employers. The platform aims to bridge the gap between talented individuals with companies seeking to build inclusive workforces. Through tailored events, mentorship programs, and directly being able to contact employers , NeuroTalent empowers students to showcase their unique abilities and helps employers recognize the value of neurodiversity in the workplace.
But what is neurodivergence? What does it mean?
Neurodivergence refers to the concept that certain neurological differences, such as people associated with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other conditions, are natural variations in human neurology rather than disorders or deficits.
What inspired us?
My younger brother, a high school freshman with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), has faced numerous challenges and mistreatment due to his neurodivergence. This experience highlighted the lack of frameworks and resources to properly assess and nurture the talents of neurodivergent individuals, particularly in the workplace. NeuroTalent was created as a tribute to my brother and to support the entire neurodivergent community in their career journeys.
