PinPoint is a first-of-its-kind crowdsourced map to explore the world around you. Users can view Pins on a navigable map submitted by other users under various topics, including accessibility-related categories like "Wheelchair Ramps" and "Tactile Paving", general categories like "Free Public Restrooms" and "Publicly Accessible Wi-Fi", safety-related categories like "Protests" and "Police Officers at Subway Stations (don't jump the turnstile!)", event-related categories like "Free Food Events" and "Fitness Events", and so much more!
But that's only half the story -- the magic of PinPoint lies in its crowdsourcing model. Think of something you think should be a topic? Create it, and other users can start contributing! See some missing Pins on an existing topic? Add them, and share details and media! Even on existing Pins, users can upvote/downvote to make sure Pins stay relevant and accurate, comment to share details, and share Pins that they want others to see.
With PinPoint, we're crowdsourcing our knowledge of the world -- using technology to navigate human communities, instead of replacing them. Communities should be accessible and bustling, not daunting and isolated. PinPoint helps us all connect to each other and our local communities, the disabled community better access the world, local businesses to thrive, and so much more.
