Project Overview

Folios is a wallet available via browser extension, a fork of Subwallet in the Polkadot/Kusama ecosystem, which allows you to import Polkadot{.} js addresses and addresses used in Metamask can be imported and new ones created. You can always use Polkadot{.} js, while incorporating the latest version of Subwallet, we aim to make the wallet more secure and easy to use for users in the Polkadot/Astar ecosystem.

Project goals

Access to both WASM and EVM smart contracts from a single wallet will enhance the user experience in the Astar ecosystem. Folios is a project that will function as a wallet, but also allow users to portable their personal identities. In the future, every action of an individual will be recorded on the blockchain. Folios will then evolve into an interface that allows individuals to express themselves through their wallets (with privacy considerations, of course), like a kind of work resume, which projects they are involved in, what contributions they have made, and who they are.

How can Folios benefit the Astar ecosystem?

AstarNetwork is a great project that supports WASM and EVM. As mentioned above, we will access both WASM and EVM smart contracts through a single wallet, enhancing the user experience of the Astar ecosystem. Currently, applications are being developed around EVM, but in the future, we anticipate a situation where various applications utilizing WASM will be developed, connecting WASM and EVM wallets at the same time (like Zenlink). This is quite specific to the Polkadot ecosystem and is difficult to achieve with existing EVM wallets.

Track Record

We won $4,000 prize from bitbank, a Japanese crypto asset exchange, at the AstarNetwork hackathon in May 2022.
