Echo box is a product under the larger vision of Ripple Echo. Ripple Echo is aimed at being the notification hub, meaning that any one can subscribe to receive notifications about their XRPL accounts over web, push notification, email, sms, whatsapp. It will act as a gateway for transaction alert.

Echo box is a prototype of one such offering from Ripple Echo. If you have ever heard of PAYTM sound box in India. A small hardware that notifies the local merchants whenever a new payment has arrived. This has been extremely popular in India (specially for local merchants). However, echo box is currently aimed as showcasing payment received alerts using Web (in future over Mobile). Its not only alert but also speak loud. so that the local merchant doesn't really have to purchase a new hardware. This concept can very well be extended on to a proprietary PAYTM like sound box option in future. The advantage is that as a offering one can charge lower fees for these alerts.
