Pixelland is a simplified 2D Metaverse gaming world that combines advertisements and games.
It is a 2D map comprising a grid of tiles 100x100 NFT Pixels.
Pixel owners can advertise anything by putting images on their pixel blocks to make it a land and building things inside the land.
Unlike other Metaverses spending so many resources on building fancy 3D worlds, we simplify the graphic aspect and focus on decentralized protocols and activities.
We are building games to attract traffic: lottery, adventure, treasure hunting...
Adventure game is a turn-based tactics multiplayer game where players control their beasts (NFT), move around, collect items, and shoot each other. People can play solo or in a team, with many possibilities.
- Off-chain
- Free to play, unlimited time even without an account.
- P2P (clients exchange data without a server)
- On-chain
- Authentication using signature
- Monster (PSP34), items (PSP37), building (PSP34) NFTs
- Game operation: users request to join a match, leave a match on-chain and be approved by the game server (after confirming location). Other real-time movements are controlled off-chain by the game server. We plan to make the gameplay more decentralized without UX trade-off utilizing some kind of off-chain worker (Phala contract), but we need more research.
Go-to-market strategy
- First, we are focusing on making interesting gameplay, easy to understand.
- With off-chain mode, we can approach a wide range of Web2 users, gamers without the barrier of having a crypto account.
- We can hold tournaments with on-chain mode
- 100 players in a match - the last man standing to win or top 10 moves to the next round.
- Team of 5 VS 5, 10 VS 10, or any other kind of teamwork.
- Millions (or any amount we can think of) of people can watch the match live on web, can be live streamed on Youtube, Twitch,...etc
Our criteria for games
- Interesting gameplay
- Easy to understand and widely approachable
- Light operations that are suitable for Blockchain
- Strong use-case for the game token
Challenges
- Game cheats from the client side (Game server logic must be implemented correctly and well-controlled).
- Bot account, multi-account (need some kind of DID KYC).
- Server to handle large amount of players, and viewers at the same time.
