Auxo - On-chain Funding Platform for Educators

Our vision is to bring funding workflows (investments, grants, accelerators, etc.) on-chain for better transparency and to lower the risks for both investors and builders. With the decentralized nature of public blockchains and zero-knowledge proof technology, we provide an innovative solution that allows investors to protect their privacy while actively engaging in the funding and decision-making processes. Our mission is to establish a platform that encourages open and transparent interactions between projects and investors, fostering trust and facilitating effective decision-making.

Business Processes

There are three main periods for on-chain funding workflows:

  1. Pre-investment Period
  • Application process — Educators describe their projects (vision, mission, milestones, budgets, etc.) and apply for a funding campaign.
  • Feedback process — Investors require additional information, provide feedback, and perform necessary screening procedures.
  1. Investment Period
  • Funding process — Investors make their decisions and deposit capital in the protocol for selected projects. This process requires a single-transaction action and the privacy of their decision is preserved.
  • Finalization process — The organizer works with the investors to finalize the funding result, depending on predefined rules and agreements.
  1. Post-investment Period
  • Fund allocation process — Deposited capital can be allocated immediately after the investment period ends or vested according to the agreements between investors and educators.
  • Review process — The agreement on fund allocation can be implemented as a milestone-based vesting mechanism to protect investors’ benefits and help motivate educators to deliver their milestones.
  • Executing investors’ rights processes — These processes can be voting on a proposal, claiming dividends, or selling shares on a secondary market.

Goal: In this hackathon, we create a platform customized to connect educators and investors by allowing organizers to create funding campaigns.

Key features:

  • Fully on-chain workflows implemented in smart contracts
  • Flexible mechanism for milestone-based vesting of capital
  • Profit sharing mechanism utilizing Open Campus NFT
  • DAO model for protecting investors' rights (reviewing, voting, profit sharing, etc.) Our platform is ready to host programs such as the Global Educator Fund program from Open Campus in on-chain environment.

Result: an MVP that provides the key features implemented in EVM-compatible smart contracts. The MVP is deployed for testing on both the EDU Chain Layer 3 network and ETH Sepolia testnet for comparison.

Future Work:

  • The privacy preserving features with ZKP is expected to be implemented after the hackathon.
  • Cross-chain research.
  • Secondary market to trade investment NFT.
  • Implementation of more funding activities.
