The commodities market has been somewhat overlooked in the DeFi space, also accurate pricing of commodities like oil, gold, and agricultural products is a bit challenging. OpenLayer jumps in the EigenLayer with a brand new oracle architecture, allowing customizable cryptography and truly decentralized operators. Our project then aims to create a marketplace for trading tokenized commodities leveraging these reliable price feeds, backed by fee-earning USD liquidity suppliers, to leverage commodities trading in Web3.
