BUIDL Community Guidelines for Grant and Hackathon Participation

BUIDL Community Guidelines for Grant and Hackathon Participation

Addressing the received reports in the past two weeks, numerous voices have addressed their concerns in witnessing the “non-compliant occurrences” in Quadratic Funding Grants. Cases reported involved fraudulent activities, sybil attack, vote bribery, etc, are confirmed violations. These BUIDLs will be either forbidden to receive allocated funds, deprived with illegitimate votes, and disqualified as a one-time warning.

However, it is imperative for the DoraHacks community to envision the risk of recurrence and action with immediate measures to ensure equity, authenticity, and sustainability. Therefore, we are providing this guideline as a general principle for the DoraHacks BUIDL community for grant and hackathon participation.

DoraHacks’s Standpoint

DoraHacks’ goal is to support and fund the hacker movement in the long-term. Optimal and sustainable fund allocation is important.

Funds allocation will be supervised with the governance of the DoraHacks team, the funding ecosystem, and all community members. Community members can address their concerns, report incidents, and ask for DoraHacks’ assistance if any non-compliant behaviors are discovered. By means, DoraHacks has taken corresponding actions by figuring collective decision-making community governance in the Discord https://discord.gg/AbgwK8b8A8, to optimize transparency and operations.

The Outline of Non-compliant Items

To mark down the procedure, we outline 5 non-compliant items established and are visible from Discord by channels.

#1. Inactive BUIDLs

BUIDLs found to be inactive in product / technology development before and while participating in a Grant or a Hackathon will be disqualified.

#2. Ineligible BUIDLs

BUIDLs found to be ineligible to meet the participating Grant/Hackathon’s requirements. For example, BUIDLs participating in wrong tracks, or previously received venture capital funding, or have issued their tokens, etc. The requirements vary and depend on the requirements from the corresponding Grant/Hackathon’s organizer.

#3. Fraud / Scam

BUIDLs found to be falsifying others, false, or involved in fraudulent activities will be disqualified.

#4. Sybil Attack

BUIDLs found to exploit sybil attacks will be either disqualified or removed from receiving matching funds.

The above-mentioned items can invalidate BUIDLs’ eligibility to continue receiving grant/hackathon funding at DoraHacks. Prerequisite with the evidence of violations that must be provided by the community in the respective channel at DoraHacks Discord. In the format of BUIDL name + BUIDL link + proof (screenshots)
