As the long-term grant funding innovative Ethereum studies, Ethereum Research Grant has successfully wrapped up its first funding round at DoraHacks.io. 5 out of 19 BUIDL teams were selected as grantees and received $5,000 in total grants according to the community voting results.
What needs to be highlighted is that this is the first practice of DoraHacks MACI-PLONK (MACI zero-knowledge voting based on the PLONK scheme), through which the circuit design of zero-knowledge governance will be more flexible and only one zero-knowledge proof of a trust setup is required. The new mechanism has levitated security and processing efficiency in MACI practices. In the future, DoraHacks MACI-PLONK will gradually replace Groth16-based DoraHacks-MACI and become the infrastructure for the platform’s future zero-knowledge governance.
ETH Research Grant is a long-term funding grant that is always open for application, and application review and fund distribution will happen periodically in sequential rounds. All the projects submitted before February 29 will be reviewed in the next round and its community voting period will be from March 5th to 15th.
In the current round, the tracks that open for applications are AA/ERC4337, zkEVM/zkVM, Rollups, Staking, Identity/ETH Login, DeGov, Sharding/Data Availability, Cryptography Research and other Ethereum Adoption. Developers and researchers who are passionate about Ethereum technology are very welcomed to submit your works/ideas!
