MyDonate is a fundraising platform that seeks to create and contribute to the giving layer of the internet with blockchain technology: a community where all individuals, organisations, and nonprofits can champion causes that are of societal concern and raise funds in cryptocurrency to make a change. With MyDonate, all individuals and organisations have to their disposer tools they need to raise funds and share their cause far and wide and make use of the power of generosity through our usage of blockchain technology. All activities on the platform flows on blockchain hence making them transparent to end users. Blockchain is a proven technology in today’s world with regards to data safety and hence we are taking such step.

MyDonate will become the new innovative force of the giving layer of the internet through cryptocurrency funding sources: contributions made by all individuals, organisations, and nonprofits interested in the societal developments.

What it does MyDonate is fundraising platform built with blockchain that allows the general public to raise funds in ETH to support whatever project (from education through to famine). MyDonate seeks to create and contribute to the giving layer of the internet with blockchain technology: a community where all individuals, organisations, and nonprofits can champion causes that are of societal concern and raise funds in cryptocurrency to make a change. We allow the fundraiser to set the target amount and any other component of the fund raising. There is a user dashboard for fundraisers to track their fundraising and other activities on the platform. For every fundraising, it will go under some checks before made available to the general public for possible donations. A fundraiser can pin donations to reach to a wider audience so users do not have to necessarily browse through categories to see the fundraising. We allow users to connect to the platform with their preferred wallet and undertake activities. We also allow users to donate any amount with their preferred wallet in whatever cryptocurrency to a particular fundraising by going through the categories. For testing purpose, use MATIC.

How we built it The frontend of the platform is built with nextjs, reactjs, heroicons, web3, ethersjs and tailwind css. The backend is built with typescript, chainlink and solidity.

Challenges we ran into We had issues with getting enough testnet faucets for testing the platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of That we have built a donation platform that can be used by the general public to raise funds in Ether to support whatever project (from education through to famine).

What we learned That no project is too small or big, you just have to get started to finish.
