General Evaluation Criteria

The judge panel should analyse submissions based on the criteria listed below. They will base their judgement on both the BUIDL page, video demo, and GitHub submission.

  • Concept / Idea: How innovative is the idea? Assess the concept, degree of innovation, potential impact, and its application to the future needs of the blockchain ecosystem.
  • Product: Did the demo work? Degree of completeness (concept vs. working product).
  • Technical Implementation: What work has been made on the frontend and backend? What percentage of the code is original? What is the purpose of the existing codebase? How many commits? Lines of code? General assessment of Github repo and degree of executability.
  • Technical Feasibility : Is this project technically feasible? What existing work are you able to leverage to bring this product to reality (DeFi composable building blocks, open source code, libraries, SDKs, developer tools, licensed software, etc.)? What considerations have been made with regards to security (from a code and management standpoint)?
  • Business Potential/Real Life Impact: Can it be a viable business? What is the impact? What is the revenue model? What is the market size? Who are the users? What differentiates this project from the competition, what is the secret sauce that will make this protocol/idea a success, long-term? (is there growth potential beyond the initial idea)?
  • Overall Impression: How they told their story? Is the presentation clear and concise? Were you able to understand the idea? Where there any unanswered questions or gaps in the story?
