The goal of the Saga Multiverse Hackathon is to help accelerate game development on Saga infrastructure. The categories are as follows:

Best Saga Multiverse Collaboration - $20,000

At Saga, our goal is to encourage developers to work together with artists, musicians and other creators to produce never-before-seen innovative experiences. We are looking for teams and individuals to collaborate across boundaries to produce novel games, movies, entertainment, DeFi and film experiences.

What is a Multiverse Collaboration?

The Saga Multiverse is a full-stack production studio where our Innovators combine sight, sound and motion to connect, create and transcend. The result is an ecosystem where creators and builders form connections between universes and create new worlds. Collaborate with your fellow Innovators to enable cross-pollination of users between projects, content portfolios, intellectual property, token systems, shared features, connections to other blockchains and modular frameworks.

Here are examples of past collaborations:

  • Two different game projects combine their games together
  • A gaming and music project work together to create a soundtrack for the game
  • A generative AI project combines with a gaming or entertainment project to provide art

How many projects can combine? The sky's the limit. 2,3,4 - Show us what you can do.

Best Web2 to Web3 Game Port or Mod - $10,000

We believe that for Web3 to succeed, more traditional game developers need to make the leap. We are looking for game developers with existing games to port their games into Web3 by launching a Saga Chainlet and using it to host their payments, NFTs or in-game economy.

We are also awarding bonus points if you write or record a blog post about how you did it. To win this prize, take an existing game and add Web3 to it.

Best Web3 Game, Entertainment or DeFi Application - $10,000

We would like to encourage game design creativity. Bonus points for novel use of Saga Chainlets as a part of your game design. What can you do with chainlets that is not possible using other infrastructure? Bonus points for creative use of Generative AI tools as part of your game design process or Spheron Network.

Best Use of Generative AI In A Game - $10,000 (In Scenario.gg Credits)

As part of the Saga Multiverse Hackathon with DoraHacks, we are introducing a special category for Generative AI gaming to challenge developers to push the limits of current technology with our partners at Scenario.gg.

The Best Use of Generative AI in a Gaming Project will be eligible to win the following from Scenario.gg:

  • 1 annual Pro plan valued at $6K
  • 4 annual Essential plans valued at $1K each

Scenario.gg have agreed to make their API available for free during the Hackathon duration, after which they will receive 10% off. Build a Web3 game or port a Web2 game to Web3 and make use of Scenario.gg and you will have a chance to win this prize!

Best Use of Generative AI In A Trailer - $3,000

We want you to show us your Multiverse. This is an open invitation to create a 1-10 minute AI generated video trailer which can easily be shared on social media. We ask that your video meet the following guidelines:

  • Open with the Saga logo and link to the Saga website
  • Feature a compelling generated AI multiverse with music and action of your choice
  • Formatted for sharing on Twitter
  • Tag the Saga Twitter handle (@Sagaxyz__)

We strongly recommend generating cinematic, high quality videos because these will be screened live before an audience.

We will screen your films at the Saga Summit as part of Saga Multiverse Film Festival before a live audience at GAMESCOMS before awarding the Saga Multiverse Award to the winners.

Best Sample Game or Plugin - $3,000

Finally, we want to enable more game developers to leverage Saga to build their games. We are looking to developers to innovate the following areas:

  • Unity Plugins
  • Unreal Plugins
  • Samples Games and Code

We will award $3,000 to the best starter project and guide (video is bonus) that helps a developer launch their own GameFi project on Saga in ten minutes or less. We are looking for developers to make it simple and easy to add Saga infrastructure to Unity or Unreal.
