We use the Solana blockchain to keep a track of vaccines across the supply chain from the manufacturer to the distributor and then the user, that is the doctor. During transportation and storage, the temperature conditions in which the vaccines are stored are also logged to the blockchain and checked against a desired temperature change making sure they are kept in optimal conditions. Distributors must stake the VAX token to participate in the network and if vaccines are not stored properly, their stake is slashed. If they are stored successfully, they are rewarded some VAX.
We plan on adding door sensors, infrared sensors, GPS tracking, LoraWAN and much more to make the tracking more sophisticated in the future
