DAO Bounty Guides

DoraHacks DAO Bounty empowers DAOs and organizations to coordinate their workstream tasks, enable decentralized communities to participate in these activities and get rewards.

As a Bounty Publisher, you can publish your requests, set the reward and expiry date, get the work done with the collaborations from community hunters.

As a Bounty Hunter, you can hunt bountries, submit your solutions, and get rewarded in crypto for your contribution.Below we prepared a detailed guide for both Bounty Publisher and Hunter.

Bounty Publisher

Step 1: Log In or Registration

Log in or Register for an account on Dorahacks

Step 2: Connect your wallet

Connect your wallet via Metamask or WalletConnect

Step 3: Create a Bounty

Select DAO bounties under Bounties in the Navigation Bar. Click on Create a Bounty

Step 4: Fill in DAO Bounty details

Fill in the DAO Bounty Form, set up core information of the Bounty such as reward, duration and number of winners.

Make sure you specify the bounty requirements clearly in Details. Markdown is supported here.

The bounty amount indicated will be deducted from your wallet, please ensure you have enough balance for bounty reward and gas fee in your wallet.

After all the details has been filled, connect to your wallet, click Publish and confirm via your wallet, your DAO bounty will be published!

Step 5: View published Bounty

You will be able to view your published bounty on the Bounty Main Page (https://dorahacks.io/daobounty)

After clicking into the Bounty that you have created, you will be able to view the Bounty details.

On the left side is important information of the Bounty such as: timeline, reward amount, payment network, and the current participants.

On the right side is the Bounty details that you've filled in.

You will also be able to view your name under the Activities Section that shows that you have created the bounty. As time goes there will be other activities such as hunter participating and hunter submitting solution, they will all be shown in the Activities Section.

Step 6: Increase Reward Pool when it's a multiple winner bounty

If the Bounty is set to have multiple winners, you can increase the reward pool at any time before Bounty is completed or expired, using same token as reward.

Step 7: Accept solution and release reward

You can accept a solution at any time using the Accept button, and release the intended reward amount to the hunter.

Step 8: Withdraw funds after Bounty expiration

If there's no hunter participating in your Bounty, the Bounty will expire at the end of the set timeline, and after the expiration, you can withdraw the funds.

Bounty Hunter

Step 1: Log In or Registration

Log in or Register for an account on Dorahacks

Step 2: Connect your wallet

Connect your wallet via Metamask or WalletConnect

Step 3: View Bounties

Select DAO bounties under Bounties in the Navigation Bar

You can click on the dropdown bar to view ongoing bounties that you are interested to participate in. Click on the bounty that you are interested to participate in.

Step 4: Participate in a Bounty

Click on the orange Participate button to participate in a bounty that you are interested in

Step 5: Connect your wallet to Dorahacks

Connect your wallet to Dorahacks to participate in the bounty and click on Confirm

Step 6: Participation confirmation page

After clicking confirm, you will view the page below, showing your participation confirmation.

After clicking back to Back to Bounty Button, you will also be able to view your participation status under the Activities Section.

Step 7: Submit your solution

Click on Submit Solution Button. Fill in the solution link with the URL link to your solution and write a description about your solution and how it meets the requirements of the Bounty that you participating in.

Step 8: Solution submission confirmation

Upon submission, you will view the page that shows your solution has been successfully submitted. After clicking back to Back to Bounty Button, you will also be able to view details of your submission under the Activities Section.

Step 9: Receive reward

If your solution is accepted by the Bounty publisher, you will then receive the reward directly in your wallet after the publisher release the funds.


FAQ

  1. What network and token reward are supported?
    At this moment, we support Polygon and BNB Smart Chain networks. The tokens that could be used as reward are: MATIC, BNB, USDT, USDC, DAI. We're always evaluating adding more networks.
  2. What type of bounties are supported?
    Our system is designed in a very flexible way for you to organise your own bounty setup. You can choose to have bounty open to one or multiple winners. When you publish an open bounty with multiple winners allowed, you can also increase the reward pool at any given time.
  3. What are the fees to publish bounty?
    We do not charge any fees for publishing and hunting bounties. The amount of reward you set up will be the amount of reward that the hunter can receive. Please be mindful that when publishing bounties there'll be gas fee occured on the network.
  4. Why does it takes very long for the bounty to be published?
    Most of the time, it's related to the network being busy, you can use the Speed Up fundtion in your wallet if it supports, be mindful that it may cost higher gas fee.
  5. What if there's no hunters hunting my bounty?
    When your bounty expired without any hunters participating, you will be able to withdraw the funds afterwards.
  6. I was the winner of the bounty but didn't receive the reward?
    This process should be done automatically, once the Bounty publisher release the funds, after certain time for network confirmations, you should receive the reward in the wallet you connected with when participating the Bounty.
